Sum 41 will be touring Europe in the summer! That's right, a young Russian fan asked everyone's favourite bassist, Cone, about a tour in Europe and his response was that the band is "starting to book concerts for the summer right now." It's about time! Keep your fingers crossed for your city, European fans!
The Japanese tour kicks off today in Nagoya.

April 18th, 2008 - Afternoon
Not much going on in Sum 41-land, but have you voted for them yet today?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 14th, 2008 - Afternoon
As Sum 41 fans, it is our role to support the band, spread the word, and help them be successful. In many ways, we have failed up until now with this album. "Underclass Hero" and "Walking Disaster" were both flops, where they both had the potential to be hit. Many radio stations dropped "Walking Disaster" when Deryck hurt his back. We could've made them bring it back. We didn't. "With Me" has more than the usual potential to be successful. It is in every way a textbook hit. It's well-written, it's catchy, and it's touching. As fans, we have the chance to redeem ourselves, make "With Me" a hit, and give Sum 41 the incentive they need to continue touring through the end of spring and the summer. Are you up for it? Good.
1. VOTE for Sum 41 at the links I gave you. With the MOD site you can vote more than once. Do so.
2.a) Your local radio stations need listeners to be successful (stating the obvious). Make "With Me" leverage. Constantly request it.
2.b) Your city has venues, right? And festivals? Both of which are usually hosted or supported by radio stations. If Sum 41 is popular on their stations, they WILL ask them to attend all those festivals. You can make them popular again.
Sum 41 played Brisbane on the 9th, Sydney on the 11th and 12th, Melbourne on the 13th, and Adelaide yesterday (the 14th Aussie time).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 5th, 2008 - Evening
Don't forget to vote for Sum 41 like mad and request "With Me" on your local radio stations!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 1st, 2008 - Afternoon
It is with great dismay that I report that Sum 41 announced their indefinite hiatus late yesterday, due to turmoil within the band. Sadly, this also means the closure of Die-Sum. I will be slowly taking the site offline over the next few hours.
...
Happy April Fool's Day!
Nope, Sum 41 has not broken up. Which means... YOU GOTTA VOTE FOR 'EM! VOTE VOTE VOTE! The links are right in front of you.

March 28th, 2008 - Evening
Some exciting news that probably means very little. Dave Brownsound played the final few riffs of "Pain for Pleasure" with Sum 41 last night at their Toronto show. :)

Happy birthday, Deryck Whibley! Sum 41's guitarist and vocalist turns 28 today.
On the countdowns, Sum 41 is #59 on the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Hot Canadian Digital Singles chart and the video is #20 on the MuchMusic Top 30 and #4 on their Daily 10. Keep voting and requesting and supporting! This is some really good progress for the single!
The boys play Windsor tonight. If anyone's going, they'll probably do something in celebration of Deryck's birthday, so make sure you bring your camera!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 20th, 2008 - Afternoon
I don't have time for a full review right now, but I just gotta say, Sum 41's live show is awesome, even with Deryck hurting. If you have the chance to see them, it is totally worth it. A warning, Deryck's voice is a bit tired, so he sounds a bit squeaky right now, but it's still amazing. And if you wait by their tour bus, they WILL COME. I met Steve and Deryck last night and I was 2 feet short of meeting Cone. The guys are really sweet and indulgent and will go out of their way for the fans even in the freezing cold with a warm limo that they need to get to only a foot away.
Sounds like Deryck is attending the Junos. He plans to attend with his wife, a meeting which will probably be their first in a few weeks. (this is from an article, not a personal conversation)
VOTE FOR SUM 41 WHEREVER YOU CAN!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 19th, 2008 - Morning
I'm updating in the morning because when I usually update, I will be in Oshawa seeing Sum 41's show there!
Make sure you vote again and again for them today and tomorrow, I don't want to come back and find they've lost any footing (they were #1 on the MuchOnDemand Daily 10 yesterday!).

Don't forget to vote for Sum 41 today!!!
Sum 41 plays Kingston tonight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 17th, 2008 - Evening
"With Me" is off to a good start. Today, it is #22 on the MuchMusic Top 30 Countdown (an impressive feat considering it is only the video's 2nd week on the countdown), #3 on the MOD Daily 10, and #80 on the Canadian Hot 100.
Sum 41 plays Barrie, Ontario tonight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 3rd, 2008 - Evening
Let's make "With Me" a hit by giving it the push it needs! Request it as regularly as you can on your local radio and TV stations! Let's get our act together and get Sum 41 back on their feet.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 2nd, 2008 - Afternoon
The boys rock Newcastle this evening.
Sum 41's "With Me" entered the Canadian Hot 100 this week at #88. "Underclass Hero"'s peak was 33 so it still has a while to go, but it's an excellent start for a band that nearly fell off the face of the earth a few months ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 1st, 2008 - Evening
Sum 41 plays Glasgow tonight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 29th, 2008 - Afternoon
In case you haven't heard, the new video for "With Me" has been released. It's an excellent video, and definitely worth watching. No good quality download yet, but watch the 3rd video from Underclass Hero
here.
Deryck was interviewed by Dose.ca recently and he said that Sum 41 will be unable to attend the Junos. He also talked about his injury in October and the terrible influence it had on the success, or lack there of, of Underclass Hero. As well, he refused to confirm or deny the rumours that his wife, Avril, is pregnant with their first child, replying with an abrupt "no comment".
Sum 41 played Nottingham last night and got a rave review from This Is Nottingham.

Suiting the Valentine's season, Sum 41 shot the video for "With Me" on Sunday. Steve directed it and it should be out within the next few weeks. Let's hope that the video gives Underclass Hero its first hit. :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 2nd, 2008 - Evening
A source that will go unnamed tells us that Steve is now engaged to girlfriend Jessy Moss and they will be getting married later this year. (I cannot name the source for obvious reasons, but it is quite reliable)

Sum 41 vocalist and guitarist Deryck Whibley found himself in the middle of a street fight early on January 16th. When friend Butch Walker began exchanging heated words and threats with two paparazzi, Deryck was forced to get into the middle of things and try to cool Butch down. See the video

Hey guys! We have until 5:00 pm EST on Friday to keep "Walking Disaster" at the top for Best Video and push Sum 41 to first place for Best Album, Sexiest Male, and Best Haircut in the ChartAttack Readers' Poll. We gotta maintain the lead over Reason and take down Siverstein and Tegan & Sara. We can do it if you
VOTE NOW! (if you really want to get Sum 41 first place, vote on the last day so that their competitors have no time to catch up)
Love The Operation M.D.? Cone informs us that he and "Dr. Rocco" (Todd Morse) have gotten down to work and have written 10 songs towards their next CD. They WILL have a sophomore album!

December 28th, 2007 - Morning
I'm not sure how they're doing it, but it appears that Silverstein's small fanbase is voting in the thousands where Sum 41's larger fanbase is voting in the... less thousands. Since I last checked, Silverstein has DOUBLED their lead over Sum 41 in both categories that they're nominated for. We can change this, but you GOTTA
VOTE NOW! Make sure to vote for Sum 41 in all 4 of their categories (Best Album, Sexiest Male, Best Haircut [Cone or Deryck], and Best Video).
--------------------------------------------------------
December 23rd, 2007 - Evening

Sum 41 is 3rd for best album (needs more than 778 votes to be first), Deryck is 4th for sexiest guy (needs 780 votes - Simple Plan's Pierre Bouvier is ahead of him so vote for Deryck NOW!), Deryck and Cone are 8th (needs 962 votes) and 10th (needs 972 votes) for best haircut, and "Walking Disaster" is 10th for best video (needs 457 votes). For the Best Haircut votes, we obviously need to bring all the Sum 41 votes together. Since Deryck's already nominated for something else, I suggest you vote for Cone for best haircut. (It turns out that Silverstein fans are insane voters so if you haven't voted all you can, DO SO NOW!)
