Bio
Deryck Jayson Whibley was born to a 17-year-old Michelle Whibley on March 21st, 1980 in Scarborough, Canada. His father left before he was born, but Michelle has since married Deryck's step-father. Deryck was in elemantry school when family Whibley packed up and moved to Ajax. In 1994, Deryck met Sum 41's drummer, Steve. In 1996, Sum 41 was formed by Deryck, Steve, and their first bassist, Richard Roy. At Exeter High, Deryck kept to himself and hung out with the skaters. Apparently, he got through the education half by pretending to be special ed. Not long before Sum 41 was signed, Deryck successfully graduated from high school. Deryck's first big home was in Toronto, but he spent much of 2003 either on tour or in LA with casual girlfriend, Paris Hilton. They broke up in November/December 2003 and not long after, Deryck began a relationship with wife, Avril Lavigne. They married on July 15th, 2006 and live together in Los Angeles. Deryck, although extremely shy offstage, takes the stage by storm as Sum 41's energetic frontman.
